On Sunday, September 22, New Creation Northwest joyfully commemorated Hispanic Heritage Month with a vibrant and celebratory worship service. Pastor Regina Pope and Pastor Keith Hunt were thrilled to join their church family in honoring the rich cultural heritage of the Hispanic community.
To enhance the festive atmosphere, congregation members were encouraged to don bright and colorful attire that showcased Hispanic culture. Many embraced the call, arriving in long, colorful skirts and embroidered blouses. Some even wore beautiful flower crowns, creating a lively ambiance in the sanctuary.
The Saturday before, a group of dedicated women gathered to craft the beautiful flowers that were on display. The blooms adorned the altar and windows. This effort reflected the commitment of the congregation to celebrate thoughtfully and creatively.
Adding to the spirit of unity, praise and worship leader Elder Genesis Williamson led the congregation in spirited worship that included a Spanish portion. This was not just a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, but a powerful reminder of New Creation's commitment to inclusivity and love within its diverse community.
Elder Rosalva Washington delivered an inspiring message titled “The Anchor That Heals.” She invited the congregation to reflect on the sturdiness of our faith. Following her sermon, she began to intercede for all who came to the altar, fostering a spirit of community and support.
The celebration didn’t end when service concluded. Following worship, attendees enjoyed a delightful fellowship hour outside featuring an array of treats. Guests indulged in nachos, goodie bags, and other snacks, lingering in the joyful spirit of camaraderie and connection.
Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month is a constant pleasure amongst the New Creation Church Family. Welcoming diversity & various cultures is one of our highest values as a community!
